When is the best time to begin dog obedience training? Dogs learn more in the first six months of their lives than they will for the remainder of their life span! The optimal learning period is between 7 and 20 weeks. With this in mind, it's obvious that you can begin training your new puppy as soon as you bring him home, with formal obedience training beginning at three months. | |
